Presidential Search Process

The Essex County College Presidential Search Committee announces its selection of three finalists following a nationwide search. The candidates were selected and interviewed by the Search Committee in March.

Each finalist will spend an entire day at the College’s main campus, meeting with various constituents prior to the Open Public Forums. Each of these visits will conclude with an evening meeting with the Board of Trustees.

Daily Meeting Schedule

7:45 a.m. Meeting with the Search Committee
8:30 a.m. Meeting with the Foundation Board
9:15 a.m. Meeting with the Alumni Association
10:00 a.m. Meeting with Acting President, Dr. A. Zachary Yamba
10:45 a.m. Meeting with Faculty Senate and Governance Chairs
11:30 a.m. Meeting with Essex County College Bargaining Associations
12:15 p.m. Meeting with Officers of the Student Government Association, Student Clubs, Phi Theta Kappa and the Honors Program
1:30 p.m. Meeting with the County Executive
2:15 p.m. Meeting with the Cabinet
3:30 p.m. Open Public Forum (Smith Hall)
6:00 p.m. Meeting with Board of Trustees


The College Community is invited to attend the three Open Public Forums on April 10, 11, and 12 in Smith Hall at 3:30 p.m. to hear from one candidate per day. The Board is expected to make a final selection at its May meeting.
