Athlete Spotlight: Shanekia Hall

The 2010 region XIX 100 Hurdles and 400 Intermediate Hurdles Champion, Shanekia Hall had a very successful freshman year.

The All American and National Champion won the 2010 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship in the 60mh with the time of 8.37 (which is the 2nd fastest time in the history of ECC).

She also took part in the Cornell University’s Marc Deneault Invitational, where she broke Cornell’s Barton Hall 60mh record in the prelims with a time of 8.52, and was also named MVP of the meet.

After completing her season Shanekia was named ECC Track and Field MVP for the Indoor season. Shanekia’s goal for 2011 are is to try and lower her personal best in the sprint hurdles, to retain her Indoor title and to win the 100 meter Outdoor title.
