Students who are unable to make their first deferred payment by the scheduled due date may avail themselves to loan funds provided by Essex County College.  The loan is equal to the amount of the first deferred payment and plan enrollment fee and repayment is due 30 days after the final payment of the deferred payment plan.  The following loan criteria is used to determine eligibility:

• Not more than one void or reinstatement
• No checks returned unpaid
• GPA of 2.0 or greater
• Account was not in collection at anytime
• Student has applied for financial aid and met all application requirements (F/A decision not required at time of loan application)
• Prior loan, if any, was paid as agreed
• Student can apply twice for the ECC loan.
