The MESA Center, located in the Center for Technology, provides an opportunity for students majoring in engineering, computer science and mathematics to obtain special academic support to help them achieve success in their chosen field of study. Students who become members of the MESA Center will have a private room to work with other like-minded students as well as tutors, mentors and counselors to enhance their educational experience.
To be eligible to join the MESA Center, a student must be majoring in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, architecture or mathematics-based science and be at a MTH 100 level or higher and be categorized as a disadvantaged student.

MESA (Mathematics, Engineering and Science Achievement) is a nationally known academic preparation program based principally in California but is in the process of expanding throughout the United States. Essex County College is the only community college in New Jersey to have a MESA Center.
