Advisement
Advisement is an on-going activity. Faculty members are available to advise you throughout the fall and spring semesters. Before you register, contact a faculty advisor to ensure that you are advised into the proper courses that will lead you to graduation and your degree.

 

Contacting a Faculty Advisor
Faculty office hours are also posted on the advisor’s office door with the division. If you are unsure of your advisor, please go to the division of your major for assistance. To see advisement areas, click here.

 

Login to MyECC, click on the Web Services tab to start online registration.

Q. HOW DO I LOGIN TO “Myecc”?

  1. Go to http://myecc.essex.edu
  2. Enter your User Name and Web Services PIN.
  3. Click on the Login button.
  4. The portal page will be displayed.

Q. WHAT IS MY USER NAME, E-MAIL ADDRESS? 

  1. Go to http://myecc.essex.edu
  2. Click on “What is my User Name, E-mail Address” under the Quick Help Menu.
  3. Enter your ID Number, Last Name, Birth Date MMDDYY, and click on the Submit button.
  4. Your User Name and E-mail Address will be displayed

Q. HOW DO I ACCESS MY E-MAIL?

  1. Go to http://myecc.essex.edu
  2. Login with your User Name & Web Services PIN.
  3. The portal page will be displayed.
  4. Click on the Web Mail tab.

Q. HOW DO I LOOK UP MY ID NUMBER?

  1. Go to http://myecc.essex.edu
  2. Click on “What is my ID Number” under the Quick Help Menu.
  3. Enter Last Name, First Name, Middle Name, Birth Date, Last 4-digits of SSN, and click on the Submit button.
  4. Your Student ID Number will be displayed.

Q. HOW DO I SET UP MY WEB SERVICES PIN?

  1. Go to http://webservices.essex.edu
  2. Click on Enter Secure Area.
  3. Enter Student ID Number.
  4. Enter Birth Date as MMDDYY and click on Login.
  5. Re-enter Old PIN (Enter Birth Date as MMDDYY)
  6. Enter New PIN (six-digits NOT your Birth Date)
  7. Re-enter New PIN and click on the Login button. (Remember your PIN and keep it in a safe place)
  8. Enter your Security Question and Answer and click on the Submit button. To help you remember the Answer to your Security Question, keep it short.
  9. Click on Continue to agree with the terms and conditions. The Main Menu will be displayed.

Q. HOW DO I REGISTER FOR CLASSES?

Go to: http://myecc.essex.edu

  • Enter your User Name and Password (Web Services PIN) and click Login.
  • Click on the Web Services tab.
  • Click on Student Services & Financial Aid.
  • Click on Registration.
  • Scroll down and click on Register Add/Drop Classes.
  • Select desired Term by clicking on the pull down menu; click Submit Term.
  • Scroll down to Add Class section and enter the Course Reference Number (CRN) in the Add Class table, and Go to Step 8 – 15 below. If a course has more than one section, you must enter the Course Reference Number (CRN) for all sections in the Add Class table.
  • If you want to search for open classes:
    • Click Class Search.
    • Select Subject from the drop down menu; enter the Course Number.
    • Scroll down and click Find Classes.
    • Click box left of the Course Reference Number (CRN) to select class.
    • Scroll down and click Add to Worksheet.
  • Scroll down and click Submit Changes.
  • Scroll down and check Registration Errors and make the necessary corrections and resubmit.
  • To look up more classes to add, scroll down and click Class Search and repeat steps in 8A-E above.
  • When you are finished adding classes, scroll down and click Fee Assessment, and PRINT your bill.
  • Scroll down, click Student Detail Schedule or Student Schedule by Day & Time, and PRINT (landscape) your class schedule.
  • Scroll to top of page, click Exit, and close your browser to protect your privacy.
  • Make payment to the Bursar’s Office by the payment due date.
Q. HOW DO I DROP & ADD CLASSES?

Go to: http://myecc.essex.edu

  • Enter your User Name and Password (Web Services PIN) and click Login.
  • Click on the Web Services tab.
  • Click on Student Services & Financial Aid.
  • Click on Registration.
  • Scroll down and click Register/Add/Drop Classes.
  • Select desired Term by clicking on the pull down menu and click Submit Term.
  • Scroll down to see the classes for which you have registered.
  • Click on the pull down menu in the Action column, select Web Drop Delete, and click Submit Changes. (To add a class, see steps 5 – 12 under “How do I register”)
  • When you are finished adding & dropping classes, scroll down and click Fee Assessment, and PRINT your bill.
  • Scroll down, click Student Detail Schedule or Student Schedule by Day & Time, and PRINT (landscape) your class schedule.
  • Scroll to top of page, click Exit, and close your browser to protect your privacy.
  • Make payment to the Bursar’s Office by the payment due date.
Q. HOW CAN I LOOK UP MY GRADES?

Midterm Warning Grades are available on-line in Web Services under Student RecordA printed report will also be sent to students mailing address. Final Grades are available on-line in Web Services, under Student Record. Printed Grade reports will not be mailed to students. Academic Transcript or unofficial transcript of all grades received is available in Web Services, under Student Record.
Go to: http://myecc.essex.edu

  • Enter your User Name and Password (Web Services PIN) and click Login.
  • Click on the Web Services tab.
  • Click on Student Services & Financial Aid.
  • Click on Student Records.
  • Click on Final Grades, or Academic Transcript, or Midterm Grade.
  • When you are finished, click Exit and close your browser to protect your privacy.

Q. I FORGOT MY PASSWORD/PIN. CAN I RESET IT?

  • Enter your Student ID Number, click on Forgot Password.
  • The system will display the Security Question you had saved.
  • Enter the Answer and click on Submit Answer.
  • You will be prompted to enter New PIN.

Q. MY PASSWORD/PIN IS DISABLED. WHAT CAN I DO? Do not guess your Password/PIN. You will disable your PIN after (3) unsuccessful tries. Remembering the Answer to your Security Question allows you to reset your Password/PIN.

If you have already disabled your Password/PIN, go to the Enrollment Services Office to have it reset.
