The Department of Marketing & Communications has been working diligently since February 2013 on a branding project that will result in a new logo and tagline and identify key marketing messages for the institution. The messages evolved from the focus sessions held last Spring that were attended by over 300 internal and external stakeholders.
Over 1,350 Essex County College students and more than 150 employees, as well as an additional 700 adults and high school students throughout Essex County, participated in surveys and interviews that tested the key marketing messages. The new logo is in the final stages of development, and will be unveiled at a unique launch event to generate excitement internally and with the greater community.
Meanwhile, the Board awarded a contract for close to $60,000 for an exterior marquee sign at the West Essex campus to Allied Environmental Signage of Eatontown. The new logo will be featured predominately in the new signage.
“The sign will serve as a much-needed identifier within the western part of Essex County while helping us to promote our programs as open houses to the immediate community,” affirmed Dr. Elvy Vieira, Associate Dean of the West Essex campus.
The sign is expected to be in place by the start of the Fall semester.
