Amid the many giveaways, ranging from movie tickets to a Jamaican vacation, Assistant Dean of Advisement and Retention Marva Mack said “This is not about the prizes; it’s to encourage and support you to complete your degree.”
Communications major Cindy Bernard from Newark was the lucky winner of the Jamaican trip. Cindy submitted the winning 30-second video touting what keeps her motivated to complete her degree. Another nine students earned $500 scholarships for their essays on education.
