The College’s operating budget of $66.8 million for 2014-2015 was formally approved at the March 19 Board of School Estimate meeting. The budget breakdown includes $41,652,308 (62.3 percent) from tuition and fees; $11,682,218 (17.63 percent) from the state; $11,350,000 (16.96 percent) from Essex County; and the remainder from a combination of investment income, other income and unexpended operating funds.
President Gale E. Gibson said the budget will enable the College to fund “our seven strategies in our five-year plan. We depend on the consistency of the county’s share of the budget and we appreciate their portion.” The state’s portion is down slightly.
While the in-county tuition rate is remaining at $108.50 per credit hour, the student general fee is increasing by $5.50 and the student activity fee by $1.50.
