NEW STUDENTS

  • Submit an Admissions Application and Application Fee to the Enrollment Services Express Office. For Admissions information, click Here.
  • Take the College Placement Exam. Appointments for New Student Advisement and Registration are given at the test site.
  • Attend your scheduled Advisement & Registration session. You will meet with an advisor and register for your classes.
  • Make payment to the Bursar’s Office by the payment due date.

CURRENT (RETURNING) STUDENTS

  • Report to your major department at the Main Campus or the Multi-purpose Room at the West Essex Campus for Advisement and Registration.
  • Veterans Educational Benefit Students should report to the Office of Veteran Affairs at the Main Campus    Enrollment Services Express Office.
  • Student Support Services participants should report to the Department of Special Programs, Room 3310, Main Campus.
  • Educational Opportunity Fund Students should report to the EOF Office, Room 3217, Main Campus.
  • If you plan to attend classes at one of our Extension Centers, please call prior to registering.

READMIT STUDENTS

TRANSFER STUDENTS
Transfer Students must have received transfer credit for Mathematics and English. Otherwise, they must take the College Placement Test and follow the registration procedures for NewStudents. For New Students registration procedures, click Here.

To have your official evaluation prior to registration, the Enrollment Services Express Office must receive your official transcript at least 3 weeks before registration.

CROSS REGISTRATION STUDENTS
Essex County College Students
1. Complete an Exchange Registration Form and obtain signature of approval from the division chairperson of    
     your major.
2.  Report to the host school (Rutgers-Newark or NJIT) Registrar’s Office and register for courses.
3.  Bring proof of your registration (courses should not exceed the associates level) to the Enrollment Services Express
     Office to add courses to your ECC registration.
4.  Make payment to the Bursar’s Office by the payment due date.  For Payment Due Dates, Click Here.
Rutgers-Newark and NJIT Visiting Students
1. Complete an Exchange Registration Form and obtain signature of approval from your home school.
2. Report to the Enrollment Services Express Office at Essex County College for registration.
3. Pay your tuition and fees at your home school.
NON-MATRICULATING STUDENTS
A Non-Matriculated Student is a student who has not applied for a degree or certificate program, will not have a full-time status, is not eligible to receive Financial Aid, did not take the College Placement Test (a financial aid requirement), and is not eligible for advanced standing.
1. Complete an Admissions Application and pay the Application Fee.
2. Report to the academic division where the course is being offered with a copy of your acceptance letter.
3. Register at a computer terminal located nearest to the academic division.

To change your status from Non-Matriculated to Matriculated (student seeking a degree or certificate), you must do the following before the first day of classes.

    • Take the College Placement Test. Contact the Assessment Lab at (973) 877-1938 for an appointment.
    • Report to the academic counselor and complete a Curriculum Code Change Form.
    • Return your Curriculum Code Change Form to the Enrollment Services Express Office.
