The FAFSA Application is available every year after January 1.
Go to www.studentaid.ed.gov and apply online and get all the information you need for applying for aid from just one website. On this site, you can:
Apply for federal student aid for free and transmit the FAFSA directly to the Central Processing System (CPS). The FAFSA is available in English or Spanish. FAFSA on the Web is easy and faster than the paper version. Completing the FAFSA on the Web gives you step by step instructions to help you complete the form correctly. If you need assistance filing the FAFSA on the Web, visit the Assessment Computer Lab located on the 4th floor, Room 4191. This lab has been opened for ECC students to file the FAFSA over the Internet.
Use the ECC Title IV Code. To guarantee that your application information is sent to the ECC Financial Aid Office, be sure to put our Title IV Code and address on the FAFSA as your first choice. The code and address are: Code - 007107, Essex County College, 303 University Avenue, Newark, NJ 07102.
Get a PIN (a personal identification number), which you will need to sign your FAFSA electronically, correct any information after you get your FAFSA results, or access your student aid history online. If you applied for aid last year, the Department will mail you a PIN. Your parents (if you are a Dependent Student) may also get a PIN, which they will need to sign the FAFSA electronically.
Access Department publications such as “The Student Guide for Funding Your Education”.
Remember, www.studentaid.ed.gov will give you all the information you will need about Financial Aid.
