Why ECC | What to do | How to pay

ECC is Within Your Reach

  • ECC is a public community college with an open admission policy. A common myth is that only people with excellent high school grades and SAT or ACT scores can go to college. It’s just not true. Essex admits any person who has earned a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.

  • If you do not have a high school diploma or GED, or if you are having difficulty with English as a new immigrant or a foreign student, the college offers various levels of English as a Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), and GED courses to prepare you for college.

  • More than 25,000 people enroll each year in ECC’s various degree and non-credit programs, including students from over 40 foreign countries.
