Dr. Munroe at National Education Conference

Essex County College’s President, Dr. Anthony E. Munroe, this week is attending the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) annual Conference in Washington, DC. Dr. Munroe was recently appointed to CHEA’s Board of Directors.

The theme of this year’s Conference is “Accreditation and Quality Assurance in the Next Decade.” U.S. Department of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos addressed the Conference attendees on January 28. Dr. Stephan Puglisi, Vice President for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and the College’s liaison for accreditation, is also at the Conference.

CHEA is a national advocate and institutional voice for promoting academic quality through accreditation. CHEA is the largest institutional higher education membership organization in the United States with approximately 3,000 degree-granting colleges and universities, and recognizes 60 institutional and programmatic accrediting organizations.
