Honors for Essex at PTK Convention

Essex County College’s Alpha Theta Theta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society was one of the top winners in the Honors Case Study during PTK International’s annual convention April 4-6.

Eight PTK members, along with President Dr. Anthony E. Munroe, co-advisors Professors Lynn Wilson and Dr. Nidhal Marashi, and Student Life & Activities Office Assistant Director Jamil Graham attended the convention. Mr. Graham was honored with the Distinguished College Administrator Award, one of 25 recognized and the only administrator from New Jersey so honored.

Four chapters were recognized for the Honors Case Study Award, including Essex. ECC’s topic was “A Patriarchal Defender: A Study into the Identity of the Changing Political System.”

Essex students attending the convention were Alpha Theta Theta Chapter President Johanna Navas, Massaer Mar, Edward Dimbo, Clark Roque, Melanny Diaz, Sena Dzirasa, Man Ling Situ Huang, and Saulo Vila Real Matias.

“The students represented themselves and the College exceedingly well and we are proud of all their accomplishments,” said Professor Wilson.
