Non-Credit Courses at West Essex Campus

A series of non-credit courses will be offered starting in January and February at the West Essex campus of Essex County College in West Caldwell. Call (973) 877-1920 for registration information.
 
Introduction to iPhone/iPad Application Design and Development is a 15 season class where students will be introduced to the essentials needed to develop, test and submit a full-featured iOS iPhone/iPad application. Topics include Apple SDX Xcode, Interface Builder, UIKit framework and an introduction to Objective-C. The class will meet Tuesdays, from 6 to 9 p.m., starting January 27. Cost is $500.
 
Defending Against Cyber-Crimes and Data Breaches is a one day workshop on January 31 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Participants will be introduced to a number of sensible and cost effective approaches designed to help protect individuals and businesses from cyber criminals. Cost of the class is $35.
 
Essentials of Bookkeeping for Small Businesses is a 12-session certificate program which is ideal for both current small business owners and those who are planning a startup. Participants will learn bookkeeping basics and how to apply them to both Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks. The class will meet Saturdays, starting January 31, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Tuition is $360 plus a $41 fee.
 
So You Want to be an Entrepreneur is a free class on February 7 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. It will provide information and resources for business development, personal assessment for start-ups and the financial aspects of starting a business.
 
American College Test (ACT) Preparation is a four session class on Saturdays, starting February 7, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The class will focus on the test taking strategies needed for the four ACT test subject areas: English, Mathematics, Science and Reading.  The ACT exam is widely accepted by colleges and universities.
