March is Women’s History Month and the College, through its On-Campus Continuing Education Department, presented the Women of Transition series, featuring weekly talks by prominent women.
The series, held every Wednesday in the month, culminated with a talk by New Jersey State Senator Nia Gill (D-34). The Essex County lawmaker has been in the state Senate since 2002, where she also served as Senate President Pro Tempore (2010-2017). From 1994-2001, she was in a state Assemblywoman. Senator Gill has been a longtime advocate for economic and social change.
Essex County College’s President, Dr. Anthony E. Munroe, welcomed Senator Gill prior to her March 27 talk to the College community. Dr. Munroe also thanked the organizers of the Women of Transition series.
