Course Description: This course is about looking at actual works of art in museums and galleries, rather than seeing reproductions of the works.  Students visit New Jersey and New York art galleries and museums with the instructor.  Students must pay individual admission fees, where required.

Course Goals: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to do the following:

  1. perceive and describe the difference between seeing an actual work of art in person versus the reproduced image of that work; and
  2. identify and evaluate personal emotional reactions to the artwork seen in the exhibits.
