Course Description: This course offers an introduction to the major functions of management: planning, staffing, organizing, controlling, direction and financing.  The technical tools of management are considered in relation to their social and psychological implications in management decision making.

<!–Course Goals: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to do the following:

  1. define and explain the functions of management and entrepreneurship;
  2. discuss the major theories of motivation, teamwork, business ethics and the effect of each on performance;
  3. analyze and relate leadership styles with leader traits, behavior and the use of power; and
  4. examine the importance of managing  change in organizations.
