DHY 113 DENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION (Core Course) (1 Credit)
This course is designed to prepare the dental hygiene student to help individuals and groups develop patient education programs. Emphasis is given to focusing on the patient as a whole person, analyzing the patient’s lifestyles, values, behavioral patterns, and the environment in which the patient lives. The course covers the processes involved in the development, implementation, and evaluation of dental health education programs in a number of settings.
Prerequisite: “C” or better in DHY 112.
