EMT 112 PARAMEDIC APPLICATIONS AND PROCEDURES (6 Credits)
This course serves as an introduction to clinical concepts necessary for an understanding of emergency pre-hospital care. Lecture, laboratory simulation, and clinical experience focus on pharmacology, EKG interpretation, airway management, patient assessment, and concepts of the prehospital environment. EMS systems, the roles and responsibilities of the paramedic, and medical-legal concerns are explored.
Prerequisites: Must be certified as an EMT-B and have CPR (BLS-C) certification.
Co-requisite: BIO 121.
