Prerequisites:  Grades of “C” or better in BIO 122, PTA 102, and PTA 106

Co-requisites:  None                                            Concurrent Courses:  None

Course Description: In this course, each student is assigned to a clinical setting that exposes the student to practical application of those principles and techniques covered in PTA 101, PTA 102, and PTA 106. The student meets periodically with his/her Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) for review and help with any encountered difficulties.

Course Goals: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to do the following:

  1. demonstrate knowledge of and apply safe, responsible, respectful ethical and legal PTA practice;
  2. perform physical therapy interventions in a technically-competent manner; and
  3. communicate accurate medical terminology and notation in written and/or oral form for documentation of patient care.
