RST 123 APPLIED CARDIO-PULMONARY PATHOPHYSIOLOGY I (2 Credits)
This course examines the anatomy and physiology of the cardiopulmonary system as it relates to respiratory care. Topics covered include basic anatomy of the pulmonary and cardiac systems, physiology of circulation, ventilation, gas exchange and transport, acid-base balance, and control of respiration. An overview of the pathophysiology and treatment of common disorders of the cardiopulmonary system is also provided.
Prerequisite: Formal acceptance into the program.
Co-requisites: RST 100, RST 110, and RST 118.
