SOC 199 BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE FOR HEALTH PROFESSIONS (3 Credits)
This course is a survey of the relationship between the social sciences and health fields. Topics covered include group differences in health and illness beliefs and behavior, relationships between providers and patients and among providers, sick roles, and sociocultural roots of health values, health policy, and a health organization. It is designed for majors in health and human services.
Prerequisites: “C” or better in SOC 101 and PSY 101, or placement.
