Course Description: This course is designed to satisfy the educational requirement for licensure as a Uniform Construction Code Enforcement Subcode Official. The course covers in detail the administrative background and procedures in the office, the legal aspects of code enforcement, and the related legislation.
<!–Course Goals: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to do the following:
- identify, describe, and apply the proper codes, rules and regulations, and duties of the subcode official; and
- explain and implement methods for review, including determining compliance with the relevant UCC codes in the technical area of the student’s expertise (e.g., electrical, building, plumbing, fire, or elevator), of building plans and specifications for class I, II, and III structures. (Note: All students are required to have a technical license in their field of expertise.)
