Course Description:  This course is designed to satisfy the educational requirement for licensure as a Plumbing Inspector ICS.  The course is based on the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code and the National Standard Plumbing Code as applied to class II and III structures.  It includes design, testing and analysis techniques for evaluating water service, distribution, and drainage systems; training in plan review and field inspection procedures; and a study of New Jersey public health requirements (NJAC 5:23-3).

<!–Course Goals:  Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to do the following:

  1. demonstrate knowledge of the laws, procedures, and administrative practices relative to the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code and the New Jersey Health Law and Code;
  2. identify, describe, and explain the technical aspects of water service, distribution, and sanitary drainage systems; and
  3. explain and implement plan review field inspection methods and procedures for enforcement of adopted plumbing codes.
