Course Description: This course is designed to satisfy the educational requirement for licensure as a Building Inspector HHS (Hazardous and High-Rise Structure). Instruction focuses on technical competency in design analysis, materials and standards, and methods for securing compliance in advanced structural systems, advanced fire protection systems, and advanced mechanical systems as applied to class I and all other structures established in Subchapter 3 of the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code (NJAC 5:23-3).
Course Goals: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to do the following:
- demonstrate knowledge of technical expertise in building inspection and plan review for class I hazardous and high-rise structures; and
- identify, describe, and apply the proper codes, rules, regulations, and contents of the building subcode(s) as related to the daily function of a Building Subcode Official HHS.
