ECC will offer three specialized adult classes where they are needed most, directly and conveniently in the community. ECC, Newark’s East Side High School and the Newark Public Schools’ Office of Family and Community Engagement have developed a partnership to offer the classes, geared primarily toward parents of public school students.
“East Side High School expressed a need for an adult evening program, so we’re starting with three classes this semester. We will see how we can expand our offerings in the future,” said Maria Alvarado, Director of the College’s Extension Programs.
The College will supply the instructors and the classes will be held at East Side High School, 238 Van Buren Street.
The classes to be offered starting in February include GED Preparation, ESL Beginner to Advanced, Four-In-One, an 11-session computer course in which students will learn Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
