The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Indoor Track & Field championships on March 7-8 gave ECC a chance to shine and they certainly did.

The Lady Wolverines finished the two-day meet at the 168th Street Armory in New York with 62 points and a third place (out of 29 schools) finish. The men compiled 29 points, good for 10t place, out of 29 teams. Both are coached by Michael Smart, who was named Indoor Women’s Coach of the Year.

Sophomore Andre Colebrook won the men’s 800 meter run and the women won the Distance Medley (Taska Johnson, Kadeisha Hield, Fawzia Kheir and Jennaya Hield). That quartet also finished second in the 4×800 meter relay.

All five earned All American honors as did O’Jay Ferguson for his scond place finish in the 400 meters. Nickheila John came in third in the women’s 400 meter run.
