March Madness has struck the College as the men’s basketball team is in the semi-finals of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) championship. This is the furthest the basketball team has advanced in the tournament in school history.
After trailing by two at halftime, Coach Corey Lowery’s team came back in the second half to edge Des Moines (Iowa) Area Community College 68-66 in Wednesday’s quarterfinal round.
The Wolverines will face Wake Technical Community College (North Carolina) at 7 p.m. tomorrow in the semi-finals. The NJCAA tournament is being held in Danville, Illinois.
In last night’s game, Dion Rogers and Chris Compas both scored 22 points in the victory. The Region XIX champions had defeated Dean College of Massachusetts 85-82 in the first round.
