New Jersey Administrative Law Judge Tiffany M. Williams will be the keynote speaker at the College’s annual Social Work Day, set for Wednesday, April 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The free program will be held in the 4th Level Multi-Purpose Room, main campus.
Judge Williams previously served as a federal prosecutor and general counsel to the state Assembly Majority Office, and formerly chaired the Garden State Bar Association’s Judicial Council. An ordained minister, she is also founder of a women’s empowerment movement, the Esther Project.
This year’s theme of Social Work Day is “Giving Back to Your Community.” The event is co-sponsored by the College’s Human & Social Services degree program and the Social Work Student Association. There will also be information about Newark Public Housing, the Fresh Air Fund and Educational Opportunity Fund, as well as from area social service organizations and transitional housing for the homeless.
