Members of Essex County College’s Track and Field team – Hadori Brodrick, Kirk Lewis, Delano Davies and Darryl Simpson – along with Dr. Gale E. Gibson yesterday attended a film screening of a new documentary “The Renaissance Period of the African American in Sports.” The 22 minute documentary takes a look at the African American Athlete during the 20th Century and the impact they made on America and the world.

 

dr gibson and track team  The film was followed by a panel discussion, moderated by Lori Stokes, co-anchor of Eyewitness News This Morning and Eyewitness News, was screened at The Walter Reed Theater at Lincoln Center, in New York City, where Dr. Gibson was introduced as “The President of the only 2 year institution in New Jersey to produce Olympic athletes in the last two Olympics.”
