Welcome to the website of the Alpha Theta Theta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges.  Founded in 1918 and recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges in 1929, Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in the world, with over 1000 chapters at community colleges in the United States, Canada, Germany, Japan and other countries. The Alpha Theta Theta Chapter at Essex County College was chartered in Fall of 1982.

Phi Theta Kappa’s membership consists of excellent, high-achieving students. Phi Theta Kappa recognizes and rewards members for their academic achievement and excellence, and assists them in their academic endeavors. From its beginning, Phi Theta Kappa has represented excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service. Among other benefits, membership in the Society provides a means to compete for over $36,000,000 in scholarships exclusive to Phi Theta Kappa members transferring to four-year colleges and universities.

You will learn more about the goals and purpose of Phi Theta Kappa, and the advantages that membership in Phi Theta Kappa offers, as you navigate through our website.
