- Weight Watchers at Work
Employees may enroll in a weight management at
work program . Weekly meetings and weigh-ins are held on campus. The program is offered in the Fall and Spring semesters. Membership fees apply.

- Fitness Center
Employees are allowed access to the College’s state of the art physical fitness facilities. The Center may be used on a stand alone basis or in conjunction with
the Weight Watchers at Work Program.
- Health and Wellness Fair
This annual event features representatives from various health fields and is a valuable source of health and wellness information for employees.
Employees are offered an array of health
assessments that include blood pressure screenings, glucose testing, and body fat analysis.

Training Programs
The College offers a number of personal and professional development workshops to employees each semester. These programs include technical and communication skills enhancement, health and wellness, supervisory skills and financial education workshops.
Direct Deposit
The College offers the convenience of direct deposit of paychecks for all employees. Our workplace banking programs with Bank of America and Wachovia offer free banking services. For employees’ convenience, a Bank of America ATM is located on the 2nd floor of the Main Building.
Cafeteria Services
Cafeteria offer a variety of meals which may be eaten in the cafeteria or taken out.
College Events
Each year a number of events including concerts, lectures, plays and exhibits are hosted by campus organizations and departments.
Many events are free and open to the public.
Bring Your Child to Work Day
Celebrated each year on the last Thursday in April. It is designed to expose girls and boys to the world of work, to demonstrate the value of education, and to help them develop a vision for the future. It is also an opportunity for ECC employees to serve as mentors to the group of
participating boys and girls. ECC is proud to be among the growing number of businesses and organizations who support
this nation - wide event.

Employee Recognition
- Service Awards – Each year in the Fall, ECC hosts a special Employee Recognition Ceremony to honor employees with employment milestones of five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five, thirty, thirty-five,
and forty years of service. Employees are formally acknowledged by the college President and Board of Trustees.
- Perfect Attendance – ECC recognizes the importance of good attendance among its employees. Full time Security, Support Staff and Police personnel who do not use a sick day in a given contract year are rewarded with an extra personal day at the start of the following contract year.
Beautification Day
This pre-graduation activity brings staff together to ‘beautify’ the College for Commencement Day activities. ‘Beautification’ is expressed in a variety of ways such as
beautifying offices and decorating college bulletin boards. The day ends with an outdoor picnic for the college family.
Day of Remembrance
On the anniversary of the tragic 9/11 event, the Essex County College community joins in solidarity with the rest of the nation in a solemn remembrance service to honor its victims. The program includes opening remarks from the college President and words of inspiration
a guest speaker.

Summer Hours
During the summer months of July and August the College operates under a four-day work week schedule. Employees work from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The College is closed on Fridays.
