The Electrical Code Technology certificate of achievement program is designed to accomplish the following:
1. Offer the opportunity to fulfill the credentials for state-approved licensing requirements adopted by the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code, which is administered by the Department of Community Affairs;
2. Provide currently-licensed electrical code enforcement personnel a means by which to upgrade their educational credentials; and
3. Prepare individuals for electrical inspector-related employment in private industry.
The underlying principle of this certificate program is the protection of the health, safety, and welfare of the people in so far as they are affected by electrical code construction regulations.
