Admission

Student Life & Activities will be accepting Scholarship Applications for Students that will be taking courses during the Fall 2022 Semester.  The scholarship period will be announced in August 2022.  

Scholarship Applications will be available in the Dasher Student Center Room 101 during the announced scholarship application period.  

The only scholarship a New student would qualify for internally is the following:

Returning Students Scholarships Criteria

Academic Engagement Scholarship

  • 3.0 G.P.A or better
  • New or Returning Student (New students must submit a copy of their High School Transcript)
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Active in campus activities and/or community service

Connie Woodruff Memorial Scholarship

  • Enrolled in Essex County College’s Nursing program
  • Single mother
  • Resident of Newark
  • Demonstrated academic promise and performance
  • Must exemplify perseverance and success through personal challenges

Frank Dillon PRIMERICA Scholarship

  • GPA of a 2.5 or higher
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Renewable

Leo Foundation Scholarship

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Enrolled in science or math program
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • 1 recommendation must be from faculty and the other from a community leader/employer/church

Sarah, Earl, Donald Ryan Memorial Scholarship

  • Demonstrate high financial need
  • Demonstrate high degree of scholastic achievement and effort with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must be enrolled full time

Open Your Eyes Scholarship
This scholarship is open to high school seniors who show an interest in eyecare and the optical industry or current ECC Vision Care Technology majors. Preference will be given to students who enhance ECC’s diversity initiatives.
