Essex County College 2024 Calendar Year

BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING SCHEDULE

The Open Public Meetings Act of the State of New Jersey (1975 N.J. Laws, Chapter 231) requires the notice of Public Meetings for each calendar year. The Essex County College Board of Trustees’ Public Meetings for calendar year 2024 will take place at 4:30 pm on the third or fourth Tuesday of the month. The Public is hereby invited to attend meetings held on the College’s Main Campus in Smith Hall, 303 University Avenue, Newark, NJ. The May and October meetings will be held at the West Essex Campus in the Multi-Purpose Room, 730 Bloomfield Avenue, West Caldwell, NJ.

Public meeting agendas and actions will be posted on the College website no later than 48 hours prior to each regularly scheduled meeting. Public comments will be entertained during the meetings and are limited to three (3) minutes.


Additionally, in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act of the State of New Jersey, a public body is permitted to exclude the public from that portion of a meeting at which certain topics are discussed. Accordingly, the Board of Trustees of Essex County College shall hold prior to all Public meetings an Executive Session for discussion, the general nature of which includes, but is not limited to Collective Bargaining Agreements, Pending and Existing Contracts, Litigation, and Personnel Matters. The discussion of said topics shall be disclosed to the public as soon as reasonable and practicable, bearing in mind the particular subject matter involved.
