Essex County College is an open-door public community college that is committed to providing quality educational programs and life-long learning activities at the most affordable cost.

The College is open to students with a wide variety of backgrounds and abilities. We take pride in our diversity and our nurturing atmosphere, which encourages people from all walks of life to enroll and excel in higher education.

The main campus is located in the heart of University Heights in Newark, New Jersey. Our urban campus covers three city blocks and houses high-tech classrooms with advanced teaching modalities and state-of-the-art laboratories.

West Essex Campus

In 1978, Essex County College opened its West Essex Extension Center in West Caldwell (now known as the West Essex Campus) to meet the educational and training needs of the area.

Today, the West Essex Campus, located on Bloomfield Avenue in West Caldwell, offers a wide range of credit courses, customized training programs, a computer institute of non-credit courses, seminar workshops, conferences, and other special programs.

The facility includes computer, biology and chemistry laboratories and provides a full range of services to students who wish to complete their degree work.
