Tuition & Fee Estimates for the 2024 – 2025 Academic Year

Effective with the Summer II 2024 semester, the tuition and fee cost estimates per credit for students who reside in Essex County and those who live in another county or out of state are displayed below.

Note:

Student activity fee is charged per credit and used to support student life activities, student clubs, athletics, student leadership, cultural affairs, and graduation commencement events.

General fee is charged per credit and supports the cost of building construction and maintenance.

Technology fee is charged per course to offset the cost to maintain and upgrade student labs, library, and instructional technology.

Lab fees, tutorial fees, off-campus fees, and other fees may apply for certain courses. See the listing of Lab Fees here. Please contact department advisors for additional information.
A $75 course material fee is charged to each class for digital course materials. You may opt-out of this program but must do so by the published deadlines.

On average students should expect to pay $150 per class for books and supplies.

Total billable credit hours determine full-time status. Check your registration carefully.

Fees are non-refundable except for course cancellations and for withdrawals during the drop period.

Essex County College reserves the right, with no prior notice, to restructure tuition and fee rates.

Students with F-1, H-1, J-1 Visa, etc., Temporary Residents, and those with Employment Authorized Status are charged the out-of-county tuition rate.
