Student Life & Activities will be accepting Scholarship Applications for Students who will be taking courses during the Fall 2026 Semester. The scholarship period will be open in July 2026.

You must submit your application online through the links next to each scholarship you are applying for.

New students are eligible to apply for the Academic Engagement Scholarship listed below.

Fall 2026 Returning Students Scholarships Criteria

Academic Engagement Scholarship: Returning

  • 3.0 G.P.A or better 
  • New or Returning Student (New students must submit a copy of their High School Transcript) 
  • Demonstrate financial need 
  • Active in campus activities and/or community service

Connie Woodruff Memorial Scholarship: Returning

  • Enrolled in Essex County College’s Nursing program 
  • Single mother 
  • Resident of Newark 
  • Demonstrated academic promise and performance 
  • Must exemplify perseverance and success through personal challenges

Leo Foundation Scholarship: Returning

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or better 
  • Enrolled in science or math program 
  • Demonstrate financial need

  • Demonstrated scholastic achievement 
  • Demonstrated community or college involvement 
  • Demonstrate financial need

Yadav Scholarship

  • Be majoring in Mathematics or a STEM field
  • Maintain a minimum 3.50 GPA
  • Demonstrate financial need

Applications that do not meet the criteria will not be considered.

Applications require 1 letter of recommendation, with the exception of the Leo Foundation Scholarship which requires 2 letters of recommendation.
