Tuition payments not paid by their scheduled due date will be assessed a monthly $30.00 late fee penalty. In addition, payment plan accounts not paid in full by the end of the semester will be assessed a $100.00 contract default fee in addition to late fee assessments.

Past due accounts also prohibit students from registering for a new semester until their tuition bill is paid in full.  Restrictions are also placed on student transcripts for semesters not funded by Federal Title IV Aid (PELL and SEOG).

Essex County College’s collection policy is to forward all past-due accounts to a designated collection agency. If your account is forwarded, it can be reported to national credit agencies, which can have a detrimental effect on your ability to obtain credit in the future. In addition, you may incur the cost assessed by the collection agency to collect your past-due account.  Please refer to the ECC Student Responsibility Agreement (SFRA) (Student Responsibility Agreement (SFA).
