Why ECC?
Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) at Essex County College serves as a central resource for advancing high‑quality teaching and student learning across the institution.
CTLE supports faculty and instructional staff through professional development, instructional design assistance, and evidence‑based teaching practices that promote student engagement, equity, and success across all instructional modalities, including in‑person, hybrid, and online learning.
Through consultations, workshops, collaborative initiatives, and curated teaching resources, the Center fosters reflective practice, instructional innovation, and continuous improvement in alignment with the College’s mission and academic priorities.

The ECC Digital Bookstore (Akademos by VitalSource) allows faculty to seamlessly embed course materials directly into MOODLE for online, hybrid, and in‑person courses to improve student access and affordability. Faculty should consult with their course coordinator on all textbook and course material selections. Final adoptions are submitted by Division Chairpersons through the Akademos platform.
