Why ECC?
The Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence at Essex County College serves as a central resource for advancing high‑quality teaching and student learning across the institution.
CTLE supports faculty and instructional staff through professional development, instructional design assistance, and evidence‑based teaching practices that promote student engagement, equity, and success across all instructional modalities, including in‑person, hybrid, and online learning.
Through consultations, workshops, collaborative initiatives, and curated teaching resources, the Center fosters reflective practice, instructional innovation, and continuous improvement in alignment with the College’s mission and academic priorities.

Essex County College‘s Wolverine Smart Books course material program is an innovative, personalized, and affordable solution for students. At the start of each qualifying term, all students will have access to all the digital course materials they need to succeed.
The CTLE has meeting rooms available for committee, departmental, or virtual class meetings. Reservation is required. CTLE Room Request Form
