Why ECC?
Qualifications and minimal educational requirements for each employment category areoutlined below. With the exception of adjunct faculty and those who are otherwise exempt,under the New Jersey First Act, new hires will be required to establish principal residencyin the State of New Jersey within 365 days from the date of hire
Individuals employed as part-time instructional staff are classified as Adjunct Faculty and are not eligible for tenure. Adjunct Faculty services are usually assigned and contracted on a semester-by-semester basis and paid by contract hour. However, assignments and the rate of pay will vary for credit and non-credit assignments. Assignments for credit courses are limited to no more than three (3) courses per semester and twenty-one (21) contract hours per year. Assignments for non-credit programs may be contracted based on a program schedule and paid by contact hour.

Administrators typically provide services during the daytime, evenings and weekends as needed, and work a 35 hour work week. Administrative employees may be employed in confidential or non-confidential capacities.

Desirable Qualifications
Individuals employed as full-time instructional staff are classified as Faculty. Faculty may be eligible for tenure in the academic ranks of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor or Instructor. Non-teaching Faculty or Lecturers are assigned on a 12 month contract. Teaching Faculty are expected to work a minimum of 15 contract hours in the Fall and Spring semesters.
Our Security and Campus Police provide around-the-clock security and protection for the College. Police are employed to provide coverage for a specific shift (i.e. first, second, third or swing) and are required to work a 40 hour work week.
Professional employees typically provide services during the daytime, evenings and weekends as needed, and work a 35 hour work week. Professional positions are assigned by grade levels ranging from Level I through Level IV. Professional employees may be employed in confidential or non-confidential capacities.
